Transportation in St. Petersburg

The metro is undoubtedly the most effective and used means of transportation to move through St. Petersburg.

The subway system in St. Petersburg is characterized by a considerable extent (122.83 km) and the service is one of the most efficient in the world. It spreads over 5 lines and consists of 64 stations, thus ensuring a strong capillarity. At peak times, in fact, trains run almost every minute and, in general, the waiting time between a train and the other does not exceed 3-4 minutes.
Timing. The underground service begins operation at 5:45 am and continue until after midnight.
Prices. The ticket costs about 50 euro cents and is independent of mileage. Tickets can be purchased at the main stops kiosks, from street vendors at railway stations and, often, from the drivers themselves.
Lines. Line 1 (red) goes from Veteranov Prospect to Devyatkino; line 2 (blue) goes from Kupchino to Parnas; line 3 (green) from Primorskaya to Rybatskoe; line 4 (yellow) from Spasskaya to Dybenko Ulitsa; line 5 (purple) is from Volkovskaya to Komendantskiy Prospekt.
